Dr. Mathew Pombo is a highly renowned Sports Medicine Surgeon and is considered one of the leading experts on youth and adult sports injuries, surgery of the shoulder/knee/ACL, sports medicine and overall human performance. He is well known as a national/international leader in the field of soccer medicine, the ACL, and is recognized as a FIFA diplomat in soccer medicine. Mat comes from a successful racing family and has been racing go karts, quarter midgets, legend cars, and road racing since he was 6 years old. He has competed in SCCA Club Racing with over 50 wins and podiums at the runoffs. In 2009 he started his pro racing career with SCCA Pro Racing in the Mazda MX5 Cup where he had a podium in every race he entered and 2 wins. In
2010 he began racing professionally for Mazda in the Continental Tire Challenge Series and raced full time until 2023 in the series as it evolved to Michelin Pilot Challenge Series with IMSA. He raced for factory Mazda, factory Kia, factory MiniCooper, and last raced for HondaHPD in the TCR class. He is passionate about racing and helping the next generation sort their path’s to success.
